Stuff the Bus

Stuff the Bus is an annual event held during the tax free weekend.  Volunteers collect donated school supplies outside of local Walmart stores. The supplies are then distributed through Harrisonburg City and Rockingham County Public Schools where they are given to students in need.

Results at Harrisonburg & Dayton Walmarts included collecting 2745 bags of supplies,  949 backpacks, and $13,037 in cash.  When we combined our results with Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro, Elkton and Luray over $93,000 worth of supplies and backpacks were collected.

Stuff the Bus 2011 raised over $50,000 in donated school supplies that were distributed to Harrisonburg City Public Schools and Rockingham County Public Schools.  A total of 3295 bags of supplies, 945 backpacks, and $2,981 in cash were collected over the weekend.  Over 200 volunteers from 25 businesses / civic groups participated in the event.

Stuff the Bus 2010 raised $41, 000 in donated school supplies for children in Harrisonburg & Rockingham County!
