Day of Caring

Day of Caring

Day of Caring starts with a Community Impact Celebration where local businesses and volunteers are recognized with special rewards for their support of United Way during the past year.  The Community Impact Results from the year are also announced.  Then volunteers go out into the community to many different sites to complete many different projects all benefiting local nonprofits.

We area always looking to expand the reach of Day of Caring. Doing that requires more volunteers! Volunteers for this event come from all different walks of life including but not limited to:

  • religious groups/organizations
  • individual volunteers
  • families
  • business associates
  • social justice groups
  • educators

The projects vary from working with children at preschools and afterschool programs, to yard work, painting, administrative work, and maintenance work. There is something for everyone. This day also allows for community members to learn more about the important work that different non-profits in the community are doing. It is an amazing day and YOU could be a part of it!

Day of Caring 2017 is May 10th at Memorial Hall on the James Madison University Campus. Stay tuned on Get Connected for more details on how to sign up to serve!
