What is Community Impact

Community impact is improving lives by mobilizing communities to create lasting changes in conditions. It's hard work and more than helping those who need help the most. It's working toward the long-term solutions, no short-term fixes. We're making progress, not just promises.

Community building is the process of mobilizing communities to improve people’s lives. It engages diverse stakeholders, including residents and others, in sustained, collaborative, strategic efforts to strengthen and improve community conditions. Community building may be geographically focused, population focused, issue focused or a combination.

    Impact Principles

  • Ensure local decision-making and ownership.-Draw upon the resources of the total community.
  • Bridge all boundaries to develop healthy communities.
